Partner's Mobility to TUAS
Participants of the Partner's Mobility program at Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) had an enriching experience exploring various educational practices. A standout moment was the simulation in the university's hospital, where they practiced on a dummy patient. This hands-on training provided invaluable insight and confidence, ensuring they are well-prepared before interacting with real patients. The innovative and immersive approach at TUAS showcased their commitment to excellence in healthcare education.

Brief overview
NEWSTEP is a three year project started on May 2023 with a goal to improve Nepalese educational institutions through the development of digitally competent teachers and innovative pedagogy approach. Moreover,NEWSTEP aims to promote the implementation of digital pedagogy and innovative strategies to foster educational growth in Nepal. This is achieved through the exchange of experiences and interactive learning processes between NEWSTEP regional authorities and stakeholders that identify, discuss, and evaluate gaps in knowledge, and needs of the students and teachers and make strategic recommendations.

As a part of digital pedagogy training, Nepalese partners attended workshop on Digital skills in Finland during 10-14 of June 2024.
As part of a partners’ mobility to Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, NEWSTEP partners from Nepal and Finland visited Valencia from 28 May to 1 June 2025. The delegation toured UPV’s Factory Design centre and its entrepreneurship hub (IDEAS) to gather ideas for building a small-scale entrepreneurship hub in Sindhuli Valley, Nepal, visited the Hyperloop UPV student team’s lab, and met with UPV’s Centro de Cooperación al Desarrollo on the ADSIDEO ‘Internet of Things for Nepal’ programme. The visit also included UPV’s Employment Fair as part of capacity building, and the School of Computer Engineering, where SVI students created a painting symbolising the Nepal-Valencia partnership.
Under Work Package 5.3 (Sustainability), NEWSTEP partners have rolled out two sustainability initiatives: Sindhuli Academy’s “Leading Institutions in Healthy Choices” course for 30 students addressing rising tobacco and drug use among teenagers, contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and SDG 4 (Quality Education); and Sindhuli Community Technical Institute’s “Sustainable TVET Entrepreneurship” course training students to manufacture hexagonal concrete blocks used in walkways, parks, and paving, contributing to SDG 4 and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
