On 7 March 2026, Sindhuli Academy (NEWSTEP) hosted its Finnish partner for a discussion on placing a nursing volunteer at Sindhuli Hospital. The visit continued the people-to-people cooperation between Nepalese and Finnish partners that has run throughout the NEWSTEP project.
Purpose of the discussion
The meeting focused on the practical arrangements for a nursing volunteer placement at Sindhuli Hospital — the scope of the volunteer’s work, the support the hospital and the Academy would provide, and how the placement could contribute to health education and service in the Sindhuli valley.
The initiative supports the NEWSTEP objective of sustainable, long-term collaboration between Nepalese and European partners, extending the partnership beyond the classroom into community health services.
