On 15–16 February 2025, Sindhuli Academy (NEWSTEP), in partnership with the Lions Club of Sindhuli, organised a two-day training on Pedagogical Approaches for Effective Learning at Hotel Sindhuli Inn, Sindhuli. Sixty teachers from government and private schools across Kamalamai Municipality took part.
Details of the training
- Name of training: Pedagogical Approaches for Effective Learning
- Date: 15–16 February 2025
- Venue: Hotel Sindhuli Inn, Sindhuli
- Organisers: Sindhuli Academy (NEWSTEP) and Lions Club of Sindhuli
- Trainers: Ms. Ullah and Mr. Prakash Dhakal, an international trainer from Finland
- Participants: Sixty teachers from both government and private schools of Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli

Learning by doing
The two days were built around active, participatory methods rather than lectures. Teachers worked in small groups on project tasks, mapped their ideas on chart paper and presented their work to the wider group, experiencing as learners the same approaches they are expected to use in their own classrooms.

Feedback and reflection
Energisers and structured peer-feedback games were used to help participants give and receive feedback openly, an essential habit for reflective teaching practice.

The training reflects the NEWSTEP goal of strengthening digitally competent teachers and innovative pedagogy in Nepalese educational institutions, extending the project’s benefits from partner institutions out to the wider school community in Sindhuli.
